Thanks for the suggestion, still open to others, as will probably not purchase Session Strings tonight. So I could get Komplete 7 Elements, along with Session Strings (120$) for 200$. I know that the cheaper "elements" version of Komplete 7 (120$) comes with some Vienna Symphonic Library Orchestra, along with a 60$ voucher for any other NI product. Though am still open to considerations! Also, since I don't plan to do straight up classical music, but mostly flourishes on pop music, Session Strings seems pretty capable of that. I checked out Symphonic Gold and it sounds terrific! At 400$ however it's a bit out of my price range.īecause of the price point, Session Strings still seems like my best bet. As always, the information provided is based on the best available evidence out there and is all fact based. Some simple advice that may decrease the need for you to see someone like me. Just a short video offering advice to all those currently training for upcoming marathons. Nothing too fancy, which is why I assume Native Instruments would suffice, though I'm entirely out of my elements when it comes to strings. The Official Opening and Exclusive Competition. (disregard the goofy singing after that point) Perhaps a better example of something I'd want to emulate would be the strings from the opening 18 seconds or so from this tune: It was playing on my ipod whilst creating the thread and thought "yeah something like that!"īut yes, those are definitely quite fancy and much harder to emulate than anything I had in mind. I regret posting that Patrick Watson strings clip. Hey guys, thanks for the replies (also, thank you to whoever moved my thread to the right section - sorry about that!). Maybe for video games this would be fine, though. The overall quality of these recordings, in my opinion, was "cheap" sounding. Second, I noticed that there seemed to be skilful use of gimmicky articulations (glissando, staccato, etc.) and layering, a lack of long legatos (which would make shortcomings immediately noticeable), and very little standalone soloing. First off, those compositions are using an expensive reverb (probably not the one supplied with the player), and that will fix an awful lot of weaknesses with samples. I listened to Kontakt's audio demos, and a couple things became clear. I've learned special techniques with EQ and reverb to tune the samples the way I'd like, and can get convincing orchestrations. With 38 individual articulations, four separate mic mixes, on-board effects, and ergonomic controls, it’s the precision set of tools needed to cover any scoring task, from film to games to studio.

Some of the strings aren't so hot, most notably the sections, but the solo instruments are excellent. The full-sized set of professional scoring tools.

I have East/West Symphonic Gold, and it's pretty darn good, plus you get woodwinds, horns, and percussion. It's not clear from Kontakt's site what articulations they offer.

I don't know how important this is to you, but you may not realize that there is also a tremolo articulation in that recording in the video that gives it some of its noteworthy character. With a huge library of orchestral samples and a cutting-edge approach to sampling, ACTION STRINGS 2 gives you the high-octane sound of a full string.

Driver, The Mouth, Action Strings, Evolve Mutations, Evolve Mutations 2. Unfortunately, you're not going to get that quality of strings from a $200 library. Native Instruments has announced the arrival of the latest version of their. I listened to the YouTube link you posted.
